Jobs may include the following:
- Direct traffic in the parking lot.
- Loading food boxes and bags of produce in vehicles.
- Assist with event set up and clean up.
- Other site-specific duties.
Attire: Closed-toe shoes are required (no sandals or flip flops). We recommend dressing in comfortable and casual clothes suitable for the season. We recommend sunscreen, bug spray, sunglasses, work gloves, and hats. If you have your own safety vest then feel free to bring it; but if you don't then we will provide some onsite.
Commitment: For this specific site, we begin distributing food to seniors promptly at 8:30am, which means we are counting on you to arrive at the earliest 8:00am to help prepare for distribution. Our hungry neighbors are counting on you to stay for the entire shift. If you are unable to complete the full shift, please log into your account to cancel your registration. Parking: Volunteers can park in any open spots next to the NTFB Truck.
Arrival Instructions: Please arrive at 8:00am and meet by the NTFB truck. We appreciate your patience as you wait for the NTFB Senior Program Coordinators to arrive as they will be coming from another Senior Food Box Distribution. They visit multiple sites in a day and do their best to make it to the next site as fast as possible.
Safety: We invite volunteers to our Senior Food Box Distribution sites to help fight hunger and it is important that we maintain a safe environment. Volunteers are expected to comply with all rules and follow the directions given by site coordinator.
Food safety: Volunteers will be expected to adhere to food safety protocols as they are instructed by the coordinator. We ask that you practice good hygiene prior to and during your distribution.
Things to Remember:
- Leave personal belongings in vehicle or at home, the site does not have a secure place to store your items.

Tracking Hours: Any volunteer (youth or adult) needing to track hours for employer matches, school, scholarships, scouts, etc. must create their own account, sign up, and check in for every shift. If you are not in our system, we cannot verify hours. The site coordinator will sign your hour sheets at the end of the volunteer shift. Our policy is to not sign any court-appointed service documents including time sheets. If you would like a form to verify your hours then email volunteer@ntfb.org.
Starting on June 10, 2021, drive time to the event will be included in your volunteer services hours. We will round up to the nearest 15 minutes and use the home address in your account to determine drive time. This is available for Senior Food Box Volunteer Opportunities only.
