When you volunteer to help Christian Benevolent Outreach Food Pantry, you are helping other people who are in need. People just like you who may be going through a crisis such as unemployment, home foreclosure, etc. We need volunteers who show respect and compassion towards our hungry neighbors while providing the best customer service. Volunteers will help with truck offload, stocking, preparing family boxes, loading client cars, and set up and tear down of tents, tables, and pallets. Need individuals comfortable with repetitive lifting of boxes 20-50 pounds.
Chaperone Requirements: All attendees must be 13 years of age or older. Those between13-17 years must volunteer with adult chaperone and we require 1 adult for every 2 minors.
Attire: Closed-toe shoes are required (no sandals or flip flops). We recommend dressing in comfortable and casual clothes suitable for the season. Items that are not appropriate include revealing clothing or dangling accessories. All volunteers must wear a face mask at all times.
Commitment: Our hungry neighbors are counting on you to stay for the entirety of the shift. Please arrive a few minutes before the shift begins. Need to cancel? We appreciate you canceling your registration in a timely manner so we may offer the slots to other volunteers.

Safety: We invite volunteers into our food pantry to help fight hunger and it is important that we maintain a safe environment. Volunteers are expected to comply with all rules, follow the directions given by site leaders, and immediately report any accidents to a staff member. We recommend leaving personal belongings at home or securing them in your vehicle. We will continue to follow the protocols recommended by the CDC, inclusive of wearing a face covering, frequent handwashing and social distancing. We do not intend to change our current practices until it has been determined in the best interest of everyone’s health to do so.
Accommodation Needs: This opportunity includes standing, bending, and lifting 25-50 pound boxes. We are unable to make accommodations at this time.
Parking: You will park in the lot adjacent to the church/food pantry. Carpooling is highly recommended. Thank you for not parking in a reserved spot or in the lot of our neighbors.
Tracking Hours: Any volunteer (youth or adult) needing to track hours for employer matches, school, scholarships, scouts, etc. must create their own account, sign up, and check in for every shift. If you are not in our system, we cannot verify hours. In addition to tracking hours in our online system, you may ask the site contact for a Hour Verification Form after the shift.
