Description: Assist with seasonal garden tasks as a group or individually. Requires bending and lifting.
Age Requirements: 12-15 with chaperone required. Anyone 16 and older can participate without chaperone (unless with a group)
Attire: Weather appropriate clothing that can get dirty. Items that are not appropriate include revealing clothing or dangling accessories. Closed-toe shoes are required.
To ensure inclusivity and comfort for everyone we serve, we request that volunteers wear clothing free of political messages, racial slurs, derogatory language, or any content that could be considered offensive. Please note that we reserve the right to ask individuals to leave if these guidelines are not followed.
Parking/Location: Park in the front parking lot. Jan's Garden is located at 3677 Mapleshade Ln. in Plano 75075.
Check-In: Enter the garden through the front gate near building entrance, and follow the central path to the back. Our Garden Specialist will check you in at the benches under the shade canopy.
Tools/water: Bring sunscreen, bug spray, and a hat. Please bring water even if it is cool outside. There are water refilling stations in the garden. Please bring your own garden gloves, if possible, and any personal gardening hand tools you like to use.
