Loading Boxes for Senior Program - Lighthouse Resource

Help site navigate Door Dash delivery pickups by assisting with loading boxes onto carts or into Dashers vehicles. Volunteers must have good verbal skills and physically be able to stand for long periods of time, bend, stoop and lift at least 40 pounds repeatedly throughout their shift. Courtesy, patience, and helpfulness are expected!

Jobs may include the following:

• Assist navigating Door Dashers to loading area.
• Loading food boxes and bags of produce in vehicles or onto carts.
• Assist with event set up and clean up.
• Other site-specific duties.

Attire:  Closed-toe shoes are required (no sandals or flip flops). We recommend dressing in comfortable and casual clothes suitable for the season.

Commitment: For this specific site, we begin distributing food promptly at 10:00 am, which means we are counting on you to arrive at the earliest 9:40 am to help prepare for distribution. Our hungry neighbors are counting on you to stay for the entire shift.  If you are unable to complete the full shift, please log into your account to cancel your registration. We hope you can join us another time. 

Parking: Volunteers can park in any open spots located at the entrance of the food pantry.

Arrival Instructions: Please arrive at 9:40 am and check-in at the desk (entrance will be located on the side of the building) and notify the staff member that you are a volunteer to assist with the Door Dash process. The staff at Lighthouse Resources will navigate you through the volunteer process.

Safety:  We invite volunteers to our new Door Dash delivery sites to help fight hunger and it is important that we maintain a safe environment.  Volunteers are expected to comply with all rules and follow the directions given by site coordinator. 

Things to Remember:

• Leave personal belongings in vehicle or at home, the site does not have a secure place to store your items.
• Feel free to bring
  • Drinks and snacks
  • Hand Sanitizer
  • Work Gloves

Tracking Hours:  Any volunteer (youth or adult) needing to track hours for employer matches, school, scholarships, scouts, etc. must create their own account, sign up, and check in for every shift.  If you are not in our system, we cannot verify hours. The site coordinator will sign your hour sheets at the end of the volunteer shift. Our policy is to not sign any court-appointed service documents including time sheets. If you would like a form to verify your hours then email volunteer@ntfb.org.
