Who We Are

Do you have a passion to fight hunger? Do you have tons of energy? Do you want to make an impact in your community over the summer? We'd love to hear from you!

The Junior Kernel Program at The North Texas Food Bank and is designed specifically for high school and college students aged 16-23 years old(as of May 25, 2026) who are committed to volunteering at the NTFB. The program runs 10 weeks from May 26 through August 8(NTFB will be closed one week in June). Applicants commit to complete 64-hours during the 10-weeks. 

We will be accepting up to 25 Junior Kernels for Summer 2026. Please complete the application below to be considered! Applications are due by midnight on Monday, April 6, 2026. Applications can be found here

 

What We Do

This program immerses you into food banking while also serving the community. You will help lead other volunteers, assist the staff with tasks surrounding the volunteer shift, and potentially serve as a camp counselor for our Kids Camp!
